Yestingsmeier Match Play On the Tee for Golf

Blue Demons to play three matches over Monday and Tuesday in Dade City, Fla.
CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team wraps up its stay in Florida with the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play on Monday and Tuesday. The three-match event features two matches on Monday before a final match Tuesday morning.
The 2021 version of the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play has a six-team field with pairings set prior to the start of the event. DePaul faces Loyola Chicago in its opening match on Monday morning before taking on Evansville in the afternoon session. The Blue Demons play Ball State in their third match on Tuesday morning.
The six-team field consists of host Ball State along with Connecticut, DePaul, Drake, Evansville and Loyola Chicago. Teams will earn one point for a team win and a half point for a tie. The team with the most points at the end of the three matches is the champion.
The match play takes place at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla. Lake Jovita features a par 72 layout over 7,153 yards. The lineup for head coach Marty Schiene is Nik Gatmaytan, Noah Kolar, Conor Glennon, Perry Chong, Artemiy Yalovenko and Grant Boyson.
Looking Ahead: Following the Yestingsmeier Match Play, DePaul travels to North Carolina for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on March 12-14. The rest of schedule consists of the John Dallio Match Play (April 2), the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate (April 12-13), the Hawkeye Invitational (April 17-18) and the BIG EAST Championship (April 30-May 2).
Dallio Memorial Returns: An event in the memory of former DePaul golfer John Dallio returns to the schedule as DePaul hosts the John Dallio Match Play on April 2. The four-team event will be played at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont as the program hosted a fall tournament in Dallio's name through the 2016-17 season.
2019-20 Recap: The Blue Demons finished the shortened season with six tournaments and two match play events. Five different players led the team in the six tournaments while the Blue Demons dropped a match against Loyola-Chicago to conclude the fall schedule before opening the spring slate with a third-place finish at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play.
