Junior selected to BIG EAST Honor Roll for fourth time in last five weeks
CHICAGO – Lexi Held has been on quite a roll of late and added another BIG EAST accolade to her 2020-21 season resume.
On Tuesday, the junior guard was selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the fourth time in the last five weeks---signifying she turned in one of the top five or six performances in the league during that span.
Held was the BIG EAST's No. 2 scorer last week averaging 21.3 points and scoring 20 or more in all three games. The all-purpose junior guard averaged a BIG EAST-best 4.3 steals along with four assists per game.
In nine games over the last five weeks, Held is averaging nearly 20 points a game along with nearly five steals each time out. She has 20 steals in her last four games and is currently No. 4 in the country in steals.
Twice in the last four games, Held has finished with a career-high seven steals.
On the season, the 5-foot, 10-inch Preseason All-BIG EAST selection is averaging nearly 17 points a game and leads the team with four assists and 3.4 steals per game.
Seton Hall's Desiree Elmore was named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Connecticut's Aaliyah Edwards took home Freshman of the Week honors.
DePaul (14-7, 11-5 BIG EAST) is set to face Villanova at 2 p.m. Saturday in the BIG EAST tournament quarterfinals at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. That game will be televised on FS2.
