CHICAGO – No. 1 UConn women's basketball was too much for DePaul to handle on Wednesday night, handing the Blue Demons an 86–40 setback at Wintrust Arena. DePaul was held to 27 percent shooting from the field, while the Huskies connected at a 60 percent clip to remain undefeated on the season.
DePaul (5-20, 2-12 BIG EAST) was led by a pair of double-figure scorers in Kate Novik and Michelle Ojo. Novik filled the stat sheet with a team-high 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The performance marked her 17th double-digit scoring outing of the season and the eighth time she has dished out five or more assists.
Ojo reached double figures for the eighth time this season, adding 10 points on 50 percent shooting.
The Blue Demons collected 12 offensive rebounds and converted 10 second-chance points.
UConn (24-0, 13-0 BIG EAST) totaled 30 assists on 37 made field goals. Azzi Fudd led the Huskies with a game-high 25 points, knocking down 4-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc.
