
DePaul Claims Team Title at Alabama A&M Golf Classic

Conor Glennon leads the Blue Demons with a second-place finish
HUNSTVILLE, Ala. – The DePaul golf team turned in the best single round team score of the tournament to capture first place at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic on Tuesday. The Blue Demons finished 13 strokes ahead of Alabama State while four players earned top 10 finishes.
Conor Glennon led the DePaul contingent with a second-place finish. He carded a 70 (-2) in the third round to finish at 217 (+1). The 70 marked Glennon's best round of his collegiate career as did the tournament score of 217 and finish of second place.
Noah Kolar placed fifth after he posted the best round of the day with a 69 (-3) on Tuesday. His first career round under 70 pushed his 54-hole total to 220 (+4) which was also a career best along with the fifth-place finish.
Perry Chong and Artemiy Yalovenko rounded out DePaul's group in the top 10 as Chong notched his first career top 10 finish with a tie for seventh place. He tallied a 75 (+3) in the third round for a tournament total of 223 (+7). Yalovenko finished in a group in 10th place as his final round score of 77 (+5) gave him a three-round score of 224 (+8). The finish and 54-hole total were also the best of Yalovenko's collegiate career.
Nik Gatmaytan placed 15th after totaling 230 (+14) over his three rounds. He carded an 83 (+11) on Tuesday and was followed by Grant Boyson and David Griggs. Boyson was tied for 18th at 232 (+16) overall that included an 82 (+10) on Tuesday while Griggs finished in a tie for 29th at 247 (+31). Griggs finished the event with an 83 (+11) in the third round.
DePaul finished with a team score of 881 (+17) ahead of Alabama State's total of 894 (+30). Anthony Lumpkin from Miles College was the individual winner with a tournament score of 215 (-1).
The Blue Demons return to Ruffled Feathers GC on Friday, April 2 for the John Dallio Match Play. DePaul is scheduled to be joined by Bradley, Chicago State and Loyola Chicago for a four-team match play event. Pairings will be determined the week of the event based on the most recent GolfStat rankings.
