
Blue Demons to Host John Dallio Match Play

DePaul welcomes Bradley, Chicago State and Loyola Chicago to Ruffled Feathers GC
CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team hosts the John Dallio Match Play on Friday as the Blue Demons welcome Bradley, Chicago State and Loyola Chicago to Ruffled Feathers GC. The event is in the memory of former DePaul golfer John Dallio and features a match play format in 2021.
Previously played as a three-round, two-day event, the Dallio is named after the former DePaul golfer who lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma, a deadly brain tumor, on Oct. 6, 2003. A member of the Blue Demons from 1997-2001, Dallio earned a degree from DePaul in finance and worked in the Blue Demon athletics department for two years.

DePaul's home course – Ruffled Feathers GC – features a par 72 layout over 6,898 yards. The morning session is scheduled for an 8 a.m. start with DePaul facing Bradley and Loyola taking on Chicago State. The two winners will play for the championship while the mornings non-winners play in the consolation match. The afternoon matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
DePaul's lineup includes Conor Glennon, Noah Kolar, Artemiy Yalovenko, Perry Chong, Nik Gatmaytan and Grant Boyson. The matches will be comprised of six individual matches.
Blue Demons Claim Tournament Title: DePaul captured first place at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic on April 23 with a 13-shot win ahead of Alabama State while four players earned top 10 finishes. Conor Glennon led the DePaul contingent with a second-place finish. He carded a 70 (-2) in the third round to finish at 217 (+1). Noah Kolar placed fifth after he posted a 69 (-3) in the third round for a 54-hole total of 220 (+4). Perry Chong and Artemiy Yalovenko rounded out DePaul's group in the top 10 as Chong notched his first career top 10 finish with a tie for seventh place and Yalovenko finished in a group in 10th place.
Looking Ahead: Following the Dallio Match Play, the Blue Demons travel to Ohio for the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate (April 12-13). The Hawkeye Invitational (April 17-18) leads up to the annual BIG EAST Championship on April 26-28 at Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, Fla.

Bradley, Chicago State and Loyola join DePaul for the event.
2019-20 Recap: The Blue Demons finished the shortened season with six tournaments and two match play events. Five different players led the team in the six tournaments while the Blue Demons dropped a match against Loyola-Chicago to conclude the fall schedule before opening the spring slate with a third-place finish at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play.
