Blue Demons Set for Louisville Invitational

Field events begin on Friday and DePaul will hit the track on Saturday
CHICAGO– DePaul track & field travels to Louisville, Kentucky for the Louisville Invitational which is set to take place on Friday, April 2 and Saturday, April 3. The meet will feature a portion of field events happening on Friday while the bulk of the meet will occur on Saturday.
DePaul is back in action for the first time since the DePaul University BIG EAST Triangular on Feb. 26. Blue Demon sophomore McKenna Orie set a new school record in the shot put and the DePaul women claimed the meet title as a team. Orie will be in action in the shot put and the discus throw this weekend in Louisville.
On the men's side, Alex Murray will compete in the hammer throw and discus on Friday after winning the shot put back on Feb. 26 in Chicago. Murray will wrap up his weekend with the shot put on Saturday in Louisville.
On the track, DePaul's Tori Carroll, Isabel Ingram and Kiersten Walker will all run on Saturday after capturing wins in Blue Demons meet earlier this season. Additionally, Carroll is slated to participate in the long jump.
For the Blue Demon men, Ben Lee and Ashton Colaire will defend previous wins in the 800m and the 110m hurdles, respectively.
As a team, the meet will be the Blue Demons' first of the outdoor season. The squad heads to Columbia, Mo. for the Tom Botts Invitational at the University of Missouri on April 9 and 10.
