Blue Demons join 11 other teams at NCR Country Club on Monday and Tuesday
CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team continues the 2021 schedule this week at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate. The Blue Demons are one of 12 teams competing at the South Course at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
The three-round, two-day tournament is scheduled for a shotgun start each day at 9 a.m. ET. The South Course at NCR features a par 70 layout over 6,720 yards. Live scoring is available via BirdieFire.
Joining the Blue Demons and host Dayton are Bowling Green, Bradley, Cleveland State, IUPUI, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Youngstown State and Wright State. DePaul's lineup for Monday and Tuesday includes Conor Glennon, Noah Kolar, Artemiy Yalovenko, Perry Chong and Nik Gatmaytan.
Blue Demons Claim Tournament Title: DePaul captured first place at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic on April 23 with a 13-shot win ahead of Alabama State while four players earned top 10 finishes. Conor Glennon led the DePaul contingent with a second-place finish. He carded a 70 (-2) in the third round to finish at 217 (+1). Noah Kolar placed fifth after he posted a 69 (-3) in the third round for a 54-hole total of 220 (+4). Perry Chong and Artemiy Yalovenko rounded out DePaul's group in the top 10 as Chong notched his first career top 10 finish with a tie for seventh place and Yalovenko finished in a group in 10th place.
Looking Ahead: Following the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate, the Blue Demons travel to Iowa City for the Hawkeye Invitational on April 17-18. That event is the final tune up for the annual BIG EAST Championship on April 26-28 at Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, Fla.
Dallio Memorial Returns: An event in the memory of former DePaul golfer John Dallio returned to the schedule as DePaul hosted the John Dallio Match Play on April 2. The Blue Demons defeated Bradley before falling to Loyola Chicago in the championship match. The four team event was played at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont as the program hosted a fall tournament in Dallio's name through the 2016-17 season. Bradley, Chicago State and Loyola joined DePaul for the event.
2019-20 Recap: The Blue Demons finished the shortened season with six tournaments and two match play events. Five different players led the team in the six tournaments while the Blue Demons dropped a match against Loyola-Chicago to conclude the fall schedule before opening the spring slate with a third-place finish at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play.
