
Blue Demons Complete First Round at BIG EAST Championship

Artemiy Yalovenko leads team in first round and is tied for 18th place
BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – The DePaul golf team is in eighth place following the first round of the 2021 BIG EAST Championship presented by JEEP. Artemiy Yalvenko led the Blue Demons on Monday and is tied for 18th place after 18 holes.
Yalovenko finished the day with a 74 (+2) and is followed by Conor Glennon and Nik Gatamytan. Glennon and Gatamytan both turned in scores of 75 (+3) and are in a group in 26th place.
Noah Kolar carded a 78 (+6) that places him in 34th while Perry Chong is in 44th after posting an 84 (+12) in his first round.
Butler holds the team lead after the first round followed by Marquette and Villanova. The Bulldogs tallied a team score of 285 (-3) and sit just a shot ahead of the Golden Eagles. DePaul finished the first round with a score of 302 (+14) and are three shots behind seventh-place Creighton.
Butler's Michael Cascino holds the top spot on the individual leaderboard after a 66 (-6) while Marquette's Hunter Eichorn is second and two shots behind Cascino.
The second round at Streamsong Resort is set for Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. ET.
