DePaul’s Tim Nedow to Compete in Tokyo Olympics

2012 Blue Demon alum to throw the shot put for Team Canada
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field alum Tim Nedow will represent Team Canada in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with competition set to get underway from Japan National Stadium next week.
Nedow, now a two-time Olympian, is set to begin his quest for a place on the podium in the qualifying round of the shot put on Tuesday, August 3 at 5:10 a.m. CT.
In the 2016 Rio Games, Nedow finished 16th before just missing the podium in the Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru with fourth-place finish. Amongst a stout field, Nedow finished ninth at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
While in Lincoln Park, Nedow was a second team All-American in both the shot put and the discus throw. In the classroom, the Brockville, Ontario native was a three-time member on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team (2010-12) and two-time member on the USTFCCCA D-I All-Academic Team (2011-12).
Nedow, DePaul's program record holder for both the indoor and outdoor shot put events, won four BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor Championships in his three seasons at DePaul. He won back-to-back indoor shot put titles in 2011 and 2012.
