From Head Coach Marie Zidek: What a nice win for this group. You just can't take this experience away from this team. We have ultimate respect for UCONN as they have spent the past year sweeping us. This match meant a lot to our returners, and the others followed their lead. Our tough serving really got us off to a nice start and set the tone early, and then the rest of the match really was about our players winning their individual matchups. We had some key blocks on their middle attacks and then transitioned enough to get everyone hot for the big swing. So proud of this team for this past weekend. Every match matters this year in BIG EAST play.
Up Next: The Blue Demons will embark on a four-match road swing over the next two weekends. Oct. 7-8 will see DePaul visit Seton Hall and St. John's before traveling to Xavier (Oct. 14) and Creighton (Oct. 16). Â
