DePaul continue BIG EAST play on the East Coast
CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball will hit the road for matches at Seton Hall and St. John's, Oct. 7-8 as BIG EAST play rolls into its third weekend.

The Blue Demons will visit Walsh Gymnasium and the Pirates on Friday (Oct. 7) at 6 p.m. (CT) before making the short trip to Queens to face the Red Storm (Oct. 8) for a 3 p.m. first serve.Â

Friday's match will stream on FloSports while Saturday's match will air on ESPN3.

A weekend ago, the Blue Demons picked up a pair of wins over Providence and UConn to improve to 2-2 in conference action. DePaul took down the Friars 3-1 on Sept. 30 before outlasting the Huskies 3-1 on the first of October.Â

Rachel Krasowski was selected BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 5.38 digs per set, the second-most in the league a week ago, and holding opponents to a .152 hitting percentage. The certificate was the libero's fourth in her career and capped off a weekend in which Krasowski eclipsed 1,000 career digs.Â

Scouting the Pirates
Seton Hall enters the weekend 12-4 on the season and 3-1 in BIG EAST play. A week ago, the Pirates fell to Georgetown in five sets before upending Villanova in a four-set match. The opening weekend of conference play saw The Hall nabbed a pair of five-set wins over Providence and UConn. Jenna Walsh paces the Pirates attack with 3.44 kills per set at a .255 clip while Anna Holland leads the back row with 4.34 digs per set. Shannon Thompson is in her first season as the head coach of Seton Hall.

Much like Seton Hall, St. John's is 12-5 on the season and 3-1 in league action after splitting last weekend's matches at Villanova and Georgetown. The Red Storm fell 3-1 to the Wildcats before using five sets to take down the Hoyas. Sophomore setter Wiktoria Kowalczyk quarterbacks a St. John's offense with Reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year Rachele Rastelli on the right side. Kowalczyk leads the BIG EAST and the nation with 775 total assists while the Red Storm lead the nation in total kills. JoJo Persico is in her 29th season leading the Johnnies program.Â
