Set Two: The Bluejays took a 17-12 lead midway through the second set before a 6-1 run capped by back-to-back blocks from Katelynn Oxley knotted the score at 18. The Blue Demons staved off a pair of set points and claimed the second set 27-25 on kills from Underwood and Nelson.
Set Three: A Kindelberger service ace tied the set at 13 apiece while consecutive kills from Pressly on the outside and a Underwood solo block pushed DePaul's advantage to 18-14. Set Five: DePaul saw a 6-3 advantage in the early stages of the final stanza before Creighton won six of the next seven points to take a 10-7 edge. Underwood dropped in a service ace as the Blue Demons trailed by just a point. Sis went on a tear dropping in three-consecutive kills  to widen the Bluejay advantage to 13-9 before closing out the match with a 15-11 fifth set victory.
From Head Coach Marie Zidek: Couldn't be prouder of the effort, execution and mentality of this group today. They fought against Xavier and continued the fight against Creighton. A lot of players grew a new gear of their game in this match, and we grew closer as a group. How we played, managed pressure situations and how we adjusted within the match proves there's so much more ahead for this team, and we will continue to push no matter the circumstances. The fight in this group is palpable, and we look to fuel that fire heading home next week.
Up Next: Â DePaul will return home to McGrath-Phillips Arena to host a pair of BIG EAST matches Oct. 21-22. The Blue Demons will host St. John's on Friday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Seton Hall to Lincoln Park on Saturday at 4 p.m.
