Six Blue Demons Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Boos, Costow, Eriksson, Godden, Smyth, and Soderstrom receive mentions
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer had six players named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team, Tuesday afternoon. Susie Soderstrom, Beth Smyth, Katie Godden, Mollie Eriksson, Ebba Costow and Kristin Boos were awarded due to their academic and athletic excellence this season.

Godden, a 2022 All-BIG EAST First Team member, is a sophomore film and television major. The forward led the Blue Demons' offensive with seven goals and three assists this season.

Soderstrom, also a sophomore forward, studies management at DePaul. She scored the game winning goal against UIC and generated four goals and one assist this season.Â

Eriksson is a graduate student, earning her master's in educational leadership after receiving her B.S. in neuroscience from DePaul last spring. She registered 70 saves this season and earned a new career high of 13 saves in DePaul's game against Northwestern. The Blue Demon has been named to BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year of her career.

Boos is a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree studying art. A senior forward, Boos played in every game this season for DePaul. She put up one goal, one assist and collected a total of 1207 minutes on the pitch.Â

Costow, a senior midfielder from Sweden, is majoring in management at DePaul. She also played in every game this season and provided an assist in the Blue Demons' game against Providence.Â

Rounding out DePaul's honorees on the All-District Team is Smyth, a junior from England. While majoring in economics, she  generated two goals this season and was listed on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2020-21.

The 2022 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated athletes must meet a list of criteria which includes a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or important reserve on their team.
All Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
