DePaul sophomore leads the nation in scoring at 28.5 points per game
NEW YORK – After breaking DePaul's single-game scoring record and averaging 35 points and 13.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Blue Demons, sophomore Aneesah Morrow has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career.
Morrow overtook the Division I scoring lead, averaging 28.5 points per game this season to go along with 12.6 rebounds per game which is good for fourth nationally.
With 45 points in a win over Northwestern on Saturday, Morrow shattered DePaul's single-game scoring benchmark that stood for 31 years while tying Iowa's Caitlin Clark for the most in a game this season. In the process, Morrow eclipsed 1,000 career points in the 43rd game of her career – a feat only 12 women in NCAA Division I history have accomplished in fewer games.
On Wednesday, the Chicago native added 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a decisive win over Loyola.
The Blue Demons return to action on Sunday, Dec. 18 with a BIG EAST matchup against Georgetown at Wintrust Arena.
Season tickets and single-game tickets for remaining Blue Demon home games can be purchased at DePaulBlueDemons.com/Tickets.
