DePaul Travels to Evanston for Saturday Afternoon Matchup at Northwestern

Local rivals face off on Saturday at 2 p.m.
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball will close out a three-game road swing with a short trip to Evanston to take on Northwestern on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Coverage of the 39th meeting between the two programs will be streamed on B1G+ beginning at 2 p.m.
Noting the Blue Demons
DePaul (6-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) has won five of its last six games including a decisive 78-52 victory over Loyola on Wednesday.
Aneesah Morrow leads the Blue Demons with 26.7 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. Morrow has posted seven double-doubles in her sophomore season to push her career total to 34. The preseason All-American has reached double-figure scoring in all nine games while netting 20+ in eight contests. Her season averages rank fourth and sixth in the nation, respectively.
Junior guard Darrione Rogers is averaging a career-high 19.3 points per game through nine games which ranks fifth in the BIG EAST while dishing out 5.7 assists per game, good for 24th nationally.
As a team, DePaul has won the rebounding battle in eight of nine games, averaging 44.8 rebounds per game including 18.1 on the offensive glass to rank seventh among Division I programs.
Scouting Northwestern
The Wildcats are 4-4 on the season and 0-1 in Big Ten play with three losses to top-25 programs in Oregon, Notre Dame and Michigan.
Sophomore forward Caileigh Walsh leads Northwestern in scoring with 13.3 points per game and a team-best 13 three-point field goals on the season. Guard Sydney Wood is averaging 11.3 points per contest while dishing out nearly three assists per game. Courtney Shaw has notched a pair of double doubles on the season and paces the Wildcats on the boards with 5.7 rebounds per game.
Joe McKeown is in his 15th season leading the program and is 245-202 during his time in Evanston.
Series Stuff
The Blue Demons hold a 22-16 edge in the all-time series. DePaul has won six in a row in the including a 78-75 victory at Wintrust Arena on Nov. 21, 2021. In games hosted in Evanston, DePaul is 10-8.
