CHICAGO – It was an all-around good day for DePaul tennis.
Right after coach Marisa Arce and the women's tennis team swept Georgetown 7-0 at XS Tennis Village on the South Side, the men had similar success against the Hoyas.
Led by Vito Tonejc winning his ninth consecutive singles match in the dual season, the Blue Demons eased past their BIG EAST opponent from Our Nation's Capital 6-1 to even their record at 5-5.
Coach Matt Brothers' team took control right from the opening serve as all three doubles teams emerged victorious in clinching the doubles point.
Luuk Wassenaar upped the match lead to 2-0 courtesy of a 6-3, 6-3 win over Adhvyte Sharma. The margin grew to 3-0 with Matteo Iaquinto's 6-4, 6-2 victory over Charlie Suh at No. 6 singles.
