Three Former Blue Demons Set for Las Vegas Summer League

Javon Freeman-Liberty, Paul Reed and Romeo Weems to spend July 7-17 in Las Vegas
CHICAGO – Three former DePaul basketball players will start play in Las Vegas as the NBA congregates from July 7-17 for the 2022 NBA 2k23 Summer League. Javon Freeman-Liberty, Paul Reed and Romeo Weems are all set to play four games each prior to the Summer League playoffs.
Freeman-Liberty joined the Chicago Bulls summer league team after finishing his collegiate career in March. In his two seasons at DePaul, he averaged 19.0 points per game over 38 games that also included 248 rebounds, 113 assists, 62 steals and 61 three-pointers. Overall, in his four seasons of college basketball between Valparaiso (2018-20) and DePaul (2020-22) he totaled 1,713 points, 590 rebounds, 295 assists, 196 steals and 140 three-point field goals in 104 career games.
Reed has played in 64 career games over his two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers and will lead the roster in Las Vegas. Prior to Las Vegas, the 76ers are playing three games in the Salt Lake City Summer League from July 5-7. Reed led the team against Memphis on July 5 with 20 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. He didn't play in the second game and Philadelphia faces Oklahoma City on Thursday evening before traveling to Las Vegas.
In his three seasons at DePaul from 2017-20, Reed averaged 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game over 57 games. In those 57 career games, he totaled 47 games in double figures, 33 games with 10 or more rebounds and 27 double-doubles. The 2019 BIG EAST Most Improved Player was selected by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft.
Weems is also playing in Salt Lake City before heading to Las Vegas with the Memphis Grizzlies. He played in 50 games over his two seasons at DePaul from 2019-21 before joining the G-League affiliate of the Grizzlies. Weems averaged 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in his two seasons at DePaul and was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team in 2020.
Weems has played in one game in Salt Lake City where he totaled 11 points and five rebounds against Oklahoma City. He didn't play in the opener against Philadelphia and Memphis faces Utah on Thursday night before moving on to Las Vegas.
In addition to Freeman-Liberty, Reed and Weems, Charlie Moore will be playing for the Detroit Pistons. Moore played two seasons at DePaul from 2019-21 before concluding his collegiate career at Miami (Fla.) last season.
