DePaul University to Celebrate 125th Anniversary

Blue Demons to honor 125 notable faces in commemoration of quasquicentennial
CHICAGO -- In conjunction with DePaul University and the celebration of the university's 125th anniversary, DePaul Athletics is proud to commemorate the rich history, storied traditions and notable Blue Demons who have made an immeasurable impact on our community.
After calling for nominations a year ago and receiving over 400 submissions in just a month, 125 individuals were selected by the planning committee to be honored. 125 Faces of DePaul showcases the varied influencers, thought leaders and change makers that have made being a Blue Demon so special.
The 28 individuals affiliated with DePaul Athletics selected to be recognized include: Mark Aguirre, Nate Blackman, David Booth, Doug Bruno, Chester Chesney, Dave Corzine, Terry Cummings, Dave Dopek, Patricia Ewers, Michael Grossman, Dick Heise, Arlene Limas, Joey Meyer, Ray Meyer, John M. McCann, Frank McGrath, George Mikan, Kate O'Brien, Jean Lenti Ponsetto, Allie Quigley, William (Bill) Smithburg, Mabel Landry Staton, Rod Strickland, Gene Sullivan, John J. Sullivan, Dick Triptow, Diana Vines, and Joe Wilhoit.
In the next three months, DePaul will share the unique stories of the 125 individuals through photos, videos, quotes, and other mediums to acquaint the university community with the Blue Demon greats.
The university plans to celebrate the 125th anniversary with various events throughout the year including Alumni and Family Weekend and Blue Demon Week. For continued updates and information please visit https://125.depaul.edu/
