Blue Demons Open Battle 4 Atlantis Against South Dakota on Saturday

Tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. CT on FloHoops
Paradise Island, Bahamas – DePaul women's basketball is set to begin action at the 2023 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis on Saturday, Nov. 18 when the Blue Demons take on South Dakota at 6:30 p.m. CST inside Imperial Arena.
In its third year hosting a women's tournament, the Battle 4 Atlantis eight-team bracket features Arizona, Howard, Memphis, Michigan, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi and South Dakota in addition to the Blue Demons.
Coverage for the first two days of competition can be found on FloHoops while ESPN2 will carry Monday's championship game and ESPNU will televise the third-place game.

Season ticket renewals for the 2023-24 women's basketball season have concluded. Current ticket holders that have yet to renew can call the ticket office to secure new seats for the upcoming season.

Noting the Blue Demons
- DePaul is 2-1 on the young season after a seven-point setback at No. 17 Louisville last Sunday.
- Sophomore guard Kate Clarke is leading the scoring effort for the Blue Demons through the season's first week. Clarke erupted for a career-high 32 points on 8-for-15 shooting from behind the arc against the Cardinals. Clarke has earned a new career-high in all three games of her DePaul career.
- Clarke's 20.7 points per game on the season is second in the BIG EAST through three games.
- Graduate guard Anaya Peoples was named to the season's first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Blue Demons in points (19.7), rebounds (9.0) and assists (3.0) through DePaul's first three games.
- Katlyn Gilbert's 24 steals on the season ranks first in the BIG EAST and top-30 in the country. Her 10 steals against Stonehill is third on DePaul's single-game marks and the most by a Blue Demon since 1989.
- The Blue Demons have won the battle of the boards in two of three games this season, averaging 48.0 rebounds per game to lead the league. The scarlet and blue hold a +10 margin on the glass.
- DePaul's 39 steals is good for 12th nationally for teams that have played three or more games.
- A season ago at this time, the Blue Demons competed in the inaugural Elevance Health Ft. Myers Tipoff in Fort Myers, Fla. and came away 2-1 on the weekend with wins over then-No. 14 Maryland and Pittsburgh.
Scouting South Dakota
- South Dakota lands in the Bahamas with a 2-1 record with wins over Division II Northern State and Northern Colorado.
- The Coyotes lone loss came at the hands of No. 22 Creighton, a 72-59 decision, in Omaha.
- USD boasts a balanced scoring effort with five players averaging 7.0 or more points per game through the first three contests. Grace Larkins and Tori DePerry lead the way with 13.0 points apiece while Larkins is averaging a team-best 7.7 boards.
- Head coach Kayla Karius is in her second season leading the Coyotes.
Series Stuff
- The Blue Demons and Coyotes will meet for the first time on Saturday.
- DePaul is 4-1 against the current configuration of Summit League programs while 2-1 against programs in North or South Dakota.
