DePaul Opens Its Indoor Track and Field Season In South Bend and Boston

The Blue Demons compete at two meets this weekend
CHICAGO – DePaul opens its indoor track and field season with a pair of competitions in South Bend, Ind. and Boston this weekend. The majority of the team is set to compete in the Blue and Gold Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, Friday, Dec. 1, before Nina Amicon and Olivia Borowiak fly out East to compete in Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Friday's competition begins at 2 p.m. CT with various field events, including the long jump, weight throw and high jump. Fans can expect to see performances by several returning athletes including Eveline Reno, Billie Martin, Noelle Malkamaki, and Alex Bernstein.
Following the field events, races will take place on the oval from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. CT. On the women's side, Nadja Moll, Alyssa Leak, Jetta Mays, Kayliah Motes and Maia Mays are expected compete while Darius Brown, Cameron Attucks, Myles Marshall, Dominic Cole, Jarel Terry and Charles Lewis will represent the Blue Demons on the men's side.
On Saturday, Amicon is set to compete in the women's 3k at 12:55 p.m. CT and Borowiak will follow in the women's 5k at 2:58 p.m. CT.
This season, the DePaul track and field team welcomed 20 newcomers, made up of four transfers, eight walk-ons and nine distance/mid-distance runners who competed on the cross country team earlier this year.
