Blue Demons Host Alcorn State in Non-Conference Finale

Tipoff set for 6 p.m. at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Thursday, Dec. 28 when Alcorn State visits Wintrust Arena for a 6 p.m. tipoff. Live coverage will be carried on FloHoops with Matt Rodewald and Kenny McReynolds handling the broadcast duties.

Noting the Blue Demons
- DePaul will look to extend its longest win-streak of the season on Thursday after winning its third-consecutive game on December 20 in the BIG EAST opener at Xavier, 76-55.
- Graduate guard Anaya Peoples has led the Blue Demons in scoring (19.3 ppg), rebounding (8.1 rpg), and assists (3.8 apg) this season, finishing in double figure scoring in 12 of 13 games on the year. In the win over Xavier, Peoples provided a little bit of everything with game-highs of 15 points, eight steals and seven rebounds.
- Kate Clarke is adding 13.5 points per game off the bench on 52-percent shooting from the field including a 42-percent clip from beyond the arc.
- Rounding out a trio of Blue Demons in double figures, Jorie Allen has posted 11.1 points a game while ranking second on the squad with 6.1 rebounds a game. Allen is shooting 92-percent from the free-throw line, a clip that leads the league.
- DePaul's 10.7 steals a game is tops in the BIG EAST and top-50 nationally. The Blue Demons have collected 13 or more steals in each of the last three games.
- Katlyn Gilbert's 37 steals this season is 13th among all Division I players. She owns five outings of four or more takeaways. Peoples boasts 33 steals on the year which ranks 22nd in the country.
- DePaul is the league leader in rebounds, averaging 41.08 boards per game. DePaul is +40 on the glass over the last five games.
- As a team, the Blue Demons rank 17th nationally and second in the BIG EAST with 19.3 assists per game, having totaled 20 or more assists on seven occasions including four of the last five outings.
- DePaul has posted a 6-1 record at Wintrust Arena through seven home games on the 2023-24 campaign.
- Head coach Doug Bruno was named a first-time nominee for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Thursday, Dec. 21. Finalists will be named on Feb. 16 with the class of 2024 announced on April 6.
- The Braves are 2-7 on the season and have played six of their first nine games on the road. Prior to the holiday break, Alcorn fell to New Orleans by a 24-point margin.
- Junior guard Zy'nyia White has led the offensive attack with a team-best 10.6 points per game through the first nine games.
- Three Braves are averaging five or more rebounds on the season led by Nakia Cheatham's 6.7 per contest.
- Head coach Nate Kilbert is in his fourth season leading the Braves, his 22nd overall as a collegiate head coach.
- The two teams will meet for the third time on Thursday evening with DePaul leading the all-time series, 2-0.
- The last meeting came in 2008, a 90-42 Blue Demons victory in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Alcorn State is the second SWAC opponent DePaul will face in the non-conference slate, having defeated Alabama State 98-69 on Dec. 17.
