CHICAGO — DePaul held off a late Green Bay run to earn a thrilling 68-64 victory on Tuesday afternoon in front of 6,000+ Chicagoland school children at Wintrust Arena. Graduate guard Anaya Peoples put on quite the performance with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists while eclipsing 1,000 points for her career.
The Blue Demons bent but never broke in a second half that saw five ties and six lead changes down the stretch thanks to timely buckets and defensively stops.
Peoples led three in double figures with her sixth 20-point outing of the season while Jorie Allen turned in an all-around game on 19 points, seven rounds and three assists. Sophomore guard Kate Clarke followed suit with 11 points on a trio of three-point field goals to go along with four rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The second quarter was a game of runs, as Green Bay scored seven unanswered to take their first lead of the game, 26-24. The Blue Demons responded with their own 7-0 run, culminating with Edwards sinking a three at the halftime buzzer to send DePaul into the locker room in front 31-26.
A Maeve McErlane three-point bucket in transition gave DePaul their largest lead of the game, 41-29, with 6:21 remaining in the third quarter. The Phoenix slowly chipped into the deficit, pulling within two at the end of the third quarter.
Green Bay (5-3) claimed their first lead of the second half four minutes into the fourth quarter, but it wouldn't last long as the Blue Demons converted on three-consecutive buckets to jump back in front for good.
