
DePaul Drops Midweek Matchup at Creighton

Morrow finishes with game-high 34 points in setback
OMAHA, Neb. – Aneesah Morrow recorded her fifth 30-point performance of the season while four Blue Demons finished in double figures, but a short-handed DePaul fell to Creighton 83-74 on Wednesday night at D.J. Sokol Arena.
Morrow led the Blue Demons with 34 points on a career-best six three-point field goals while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out a pair of assists.
Keke Rimmer chipped in 12 points and six rebounds while freshman Tara Daye notched a career-high 10 points to go with seven boards in 28 minutes. Jorie Allen went five-from-seven from the field to finish with 10 points.
Darrione Rogers dished out a career-high 12 assists, and the Blue Demons edged the Bluejays on the boards 35-34.
Morrow netted the first 11 points of the game for the Blue Demons, before a 6-0 Creighton run extended the Bluejays lead to 23-11 before Rimmer found a bucket on the block to trim the deficit to 10 at the end of the first quarter.
Creighton (15-7, 9-4 BIG EAST) extended their lead to 17 with a 9-2 run to open the second quarter and force a DePaul timeout. Morrow and Holmes each knocked down a pair of triples in four consecutive trips down the court to cut the Bluejay advantage to 40-33, with just over three-and a half minutes left in the second. The Blue Demons went scoreless for nearly the final three minutes of the period and trailed 44-36 heading into the locker room.
Morrow had 20 first-half points on four three-point field goals while Rimmer and Holmes added six apiece.
A pair of field goals from Allen in the paint put the Blue Demons behind by just six, but Creighton strung together an 8-2 run to jump back in front by 11. The Bluejays took a 64-52 lead into the final 10 minutes of play.
DePaul cut it to a three-possession game twice in the fourth quarter, but the clock wasn't on the side of the Blue Demons as Creighton held on for the victory.
Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen led the Bluejays with 21 and 19 points, respectively.
