A Rogers three on the right wing widened the lead to 17-5 before the Friars were held without a point for the final three minutes of the first quarter, allowing DePaul to jump in front 22-10 after one.
Â
Providence (13-15, 4-13) used a 13-2 run to open the second period and trim the lead to just a point before the Blue Demons responded with six unanswered behind back-to-back lay ins from Peoples.
