Track and Field Heads to GVSU Big Meet

The Blue Demons will compete in Allendale, Mich.
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field heads to Allendale, Mich. to participate in the GVSU Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University on Friday, Feb. 10. This will be the Blue Demons final meet before they compete in the indoor conference championships.
The annual GVSU Big Meet will host 100 teams along with 1500 athletes this weekend at the Kelly Family Sports Center.
The competition begins at 10:04 a.m. CT with the women's 5,000m run, the remaining running events will follow. At 1 p.m. CT, throws events begin. Jumps will follow with a start time set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
The Blue Demons will see action in over 20 events on Friday. On the men's side of competition, Darius Brown will be running the 60m hurdles. Brown has placed first in the event at each meet he has participated in. Shane Knanishu will be running the men's mile after breaking the school record last week with a time of 4:07.01.
On the women's side, Olivia Borowiak makes an appearance for the 1 mile race after breaking her own school record in the 3,000m at the Meyo Invitational last weekend. Tori Carroll will participate in the long jump after placing third with a final distance of 5.82m last week. Eveline Reno, who also brought home bronze in the Meyo Invitational, is scheduled to compete in the high jump at 2:30 p.m. CT.
