3/1/2023 8:20:00 PM | MEN'S BASKETBALL
HARTFORD, CONN. – An early first half deficit was too much for the DePaul men's basketball team to overcome on the road against UConn, 88-59, Wednesday evening. Nick Ongenda was a bright spot for DePaul tying a career-high 17 points. Ongenda also added a team-best six rebounds.

UConn came out running from the gate opening the game with a 29-2 lead at the under-12 media timeout. DePaul was eventually able to hold UConn to a stretch of 1-of-7 but could not capitalize with offensive possessions. Ongenda scored nine of DePaul's first 15 points as the Huskies held a 51-19 halftime lead.
DePaul opened the second half with the team's first three-pointer of the game by Johnson and kept pace with the Huskies, 8-8. The Blue Demons kept pace but could not grab enough of a second half advantage to cut into the deficit.
