Kizelbasheva Named Singles Player of the Week

Yuliya Kizelbasheva earns honors for first time this season
CHICAGO - Yuliya Kizelbasheva was named BIG EAST Women's Singles Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference.
Kizelbasheva went 2-0 on the No.1 court during the final homestand of the regular season. The senior defeated Seton Hall's Oliwia Kempinski in straight sets on Friday against the Pirates. Yuliya also earned a win over St. John's Lalita Devarakonda, 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday.
The Armavir, Russia native sits at a 5-2 record against BIG EAST opponents and 8-10 overall on the No. 1 court during the 2023 dual season.
The Blue Demons will be back in action on Friday, April 16 as they take on the UIC Flames. First serve from the UIC Outdoor Courts is set for 10 a.m.
