Maddie Beal Earns AVCA 30 Under Thirty Recognition

Blue Demon assistant recognized for outstanding commitment to the game
LEXINGTON, Kentucky – DePaul volleyball assistant coach Maddie Beal was honored on Thursday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as a recipient of the 2023 Thirty Under 30 award.
Thirty Under 30 honors up-and-coming coaches at all levels of volleyball—college, high school, and club—and the recipients serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director. Nominees had to be under 30 as of Dec. 31, 2022, to qualify for the award.
Beal is heading into her second season in Lincoln Park and has had tremendous impact since her arrival in February of 2022. The Colorado Springs native touches every part of the program including individual skill work, position video scouting, day-to-day operations, travel coordination, recruiting and much more.
"Maddie has made an immediate impact on our program here at DePaul. Her love for teaching the technique of the game, unparalleled work ethic, and interest for getting our student athletes to the next level of their development makes this recognition well earned" said head coach Marie Zidek. Â "Our program is headed to new heights because of Maddie's selfless dedication to our student athletes and to the DePaul community on and off the court."
Prior to her time in Chicago, Beal was a graduate manager at the University of Mississippi for two seasons and helped the Rebels reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over a decade.
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Minnesota, Beal was integral to the Gophers' sustained success and served as co-captain in her senior season.
