The Blue Demons dominate the Wildcats
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis ends its regular dual match season with an incredible 6-1 win against the Villanova Wildcats on Friday morning. The Blue Demons captured the doubles point early on and continued to dominate on the singles courts to secure the victory.
DePaul, now 10-14, started the day off strong with two wins on the doubles side. Duos Leon Huck and Pablo Torres Almeida claimed a 6-2 victory on the No. 1 court, while Sven Moser and Shourya Verma dominated their opponents 6-3 on the No. 2 court.
On the singles side, Aleksa Krivokapic fought to a 7-5, 6-4 decision on court No.1. Huck followed suit with a 7-6(10-4), 6-4 win to further DePaul's lead. Almeida secured the win for the Blue Demons after defeating Villanova's Ryan Nguyen in a challenging 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 battle.
Verma and Matteo Iaquinto collected additional wins for DePaul after conquering their opponents 7-5, 6-3 and 7-6 (10-5), 7-5 respectively.
