Women’s Soccer Announces 2023 Fall Schedule

The Blue Demons face off against fierce non-conference competition in the upcoming season
CHICAGO – DePaul women's head coach Michele O'Brien announced the team's 2023 schedule, Thursday afternoon. The fall season includes a nine game non-conference slate followed by 10 BIG EAST conference matches. The Blue Demons 2023 campaign opens with an away match at Alabama on Thursday, Aug. 17. The Crimson Tide finished the 2022 season ranked No. 4 nationally.
"We have put together a challenging schedule with a lot of great games," said head coach Michele O'Brien. "We kick the non-conference season off with a great opportunity down in Alabama with a two-game road weekend followed by a four-game home stretch against some great opposition. We are looking forward to some exciting home games for our fans. Non-Conference should prepare us well for a really difficult BIG EAST schedule."
This upcoming season marks O'Brien's third year at the helm of the program. Rachel Pitman steps into her first season as associate head coach after being promoted this past April. The Blue Demons will welcome 13 newcomers to the 2023 roster and return 16 key contributors from the 2022 season. DePaul aims to return to the conference tournament for the first time since 2019.
After competing in two exhibition matches at Wisconsin Aug. 4 and against Milwaukee Aug. 12, DePaul opens their regular season with a trip down to Alabama on Thursday, Aug. 17. The Blue Demons will stay down south for the weekend and take on Samford on Sunday, Aug. 20 to conclude its August away slate.
DePaul begins its four-game home stretch with its season home opener against Green Bay on Aug. 24. The Blue Demons are set to hit the newly renovated Wish Field at 4 p.m. CT. DePaul's home game slate includes EKU on Aug. 31 and two Chicagoland rivals, UIC and Loyola on Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, respectively.
The Blue Demons travel to NIU on Sept. 14 before kicking off their conference matchups Sept. 21 with an away game against Marquette. The Blue Demons then play host to Xavier Sept. 24 before heading east to Georgetown on Oct. 1.
DePaul welcomes four BIG EAST competitors in October, including Providence on Oct. 5, UConn Oct. 12, Creighton Oct. 19 and Villanova Oct. 22. The Blue Demons travel to Butler on Oct. 8, and then fly out to Seton Hall on Oct. 15. DePaul concludes its 2023 fall season with an away match against St. John's at 7 p.m. CT.
The BIG EAST Tournament is set for Oct. 29-Nov. 5.
