
Malkamaki Claims 2023 World Title for Team USA

The Blue Demon brings home gold
Paris, France – In her World Championship debut, DePaul Track and Field's Noelle Malkamaki took home a gold medal Friday evening at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships. The Blue Demon became a World Champion after earning a final mark of 13.32m and breaking her own women's F46 shot put world record.
ÂOn her first throw, Malkamaki topped the F46 shot put World Championship record after hitting the 12.31m mark. She continued to dominate, breaking the world record in her second attempt with 13.02m. The Decatur, Ill. native would go on to break the world record two more times before her sixth and final throw of 13.32m secured her title as world champion.Â
ÂMalkamaki's performance comes months after she claimed the USA Paralympic F46 Shot Put National Title in May 2023.Â
