Elena Milam Named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

The Seattle, Wash. native notched her first career shutout
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer goalkeeper Elena Milam has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the week as announced by the conference on Monday. The accolade comes after Milam's incredible performance in net during DePaul's 1-0 victory over UIC last Thursday when she notched her first career shutout.Â
ÂThe Seattle, Wash. native currently leads the conference with 35 saves. Milam tallied five saves against UIC and a season high 11 saves against Loyola Chicago on Sunday. The Blue Demon has logged all 90 minutes of DePaul's six matches so far this season, proving to play a crucial role in the team's 3-2-1 record.

This week, DePaul travels for their last non-conference game against Northern Illinois on Sept. 14, before opening their conference slate against Marquette on Sept. 21.Â
