Blue Demons Host Northwestern on Labor Day

CHICAGO – DePaul returns to Wish Field on Monday Sept. 4 for a matchup with Northwestern at 11:30 a.m. Live action can be followed on FloFC and tickets available for purchase here.

Setting the Scene:

DePaul will look to snap a two-game streak without a goal after coming up short in the attacking third to then-No. 10 Indiana and Bradley.
Monday's match is the first of three against local Chicagoland rivals. The Blue Demons will host Loyola Chicago on Sept. 19 before welcoming UIC to Wish Field on Oct. 4.
Goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz is averaging five saves a game through the first three matches of 2023.
Christian Baumgartner, Colin Mackey and Santiago Rodriguez all made the first starts of their collegiate careers versus the Braves.
Freshman forward Keagan Pace made his first Blue Demon debut against Bradley on Friday.

A Look at Northwestern:

The Wildcats enter the match 3-0 after picking up a trio of one-goal victories over St. Thomas, NJIT and Milwaukee
Last time out, Northwestern trailed early but scored two unanswered to top Milwaukee on the road, 2-1.
NU was selected to finish eighth in the Big Ten Preseason Poll.
Russell Payne is in his third season at the helm in Evanston.

Series Stuff:

Monday marks the 33rd all-time meeting between the local foes with the Wildcats leading the all-time series 19-10-3.
The two programs last met in September of 2021 where Northwestern claimed a 2-0 victory.
The last time the Blue Demons were victorious over NU came in 2016 with the most recent win at Wish Field in the series coming in 2011.

Up Next: The Blue Demons will continue the non-conference slate on Friday, Sept. 8 with a trip to Bowling Green. Kick off is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
