DePaul Track and Field Competes at Badger Midwest Invite

The Blue Demons Open Their 2024 Indoor Competition at Gately Park
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field opens its 2024 indoor competition with the Badger Midwest Invite, Saturday Jan. 13. First events are set for 11:45 a.m. CT. Fans can keep up with the action here.
DePaul competes against Purdue, Milwaukee and Southern Illinois in addition to Wisconsin at Gately Park.
The Blue Demons kick off the meet with field events. Patrick Diakite is expected to compete in the high jump while Eveline Reno and Amelia Barrington partake on the women's side. The men's weight throw will also take place at 11:45 a.m., starring Alex Bernstein, Thomas Goggin and Ian Cox. Bernstein hopes to nab his second consecutive first place finish after earning a personal best mark of 20.21m at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite on Dec. 12, 2023.
Jordyn Showers is set to participate in the women's long jump at 1 p.m. The women's weight throw follows at 1:30 p.m. with Billie Martin, Noelle Malkamaki, Kash Allen and Jessica Beckman in the lineup. Martin looks to earn her third consecutive first place finish while Allen looks to earn her second gold medal in their designated event.
Cox competes again in the men's shot put after placing first in the event at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite last year while Madison Volz, Grace Havern and Meaghan Andrews run the one mile race at 3:15 p.m.
The men's one mile takes place at 3:25 p.m. featuring William Previdi, Griffin Lehnhardt, Michael Ronzone, Jackson Thomas and Tommy Elwood.
Fans can turn their attention back to the field events with Alicia Jones competing the the women's triple jump at 3:30 p.m. At 4 p.m., the men's 600m takes place starring Michael Parry and Jack Ward. The men's 800m follows at 4:25 p.m. featuring Jason Gould.
The women's 300m is set for 4:40 p.m. with Leandria Elam running alongside Alyssa Leak. At 4:45 p.m. Kindle Miles, Allen, Malkamaki, and Beckman partake in the women's shot put.
Joshua Edmonds will make his season debut in the men's 300m at 5 p.m., before Sara Cordova and Gianna Sanchez compete in the women's 3000m. Jesse Gamboa and Mason Krieg round out the day-long competition with the men's 3000m at 5:35 p.m.
