Final Results

The Blue Demons take home four first place finishes

CHICAGO – DePaul track and field heads back to Chicago after completing the Notre Dame Invitational Saturday night. Many Blue Demons brought home first place finishes including Billie Martin, Darius Brown and both men's and women's 4x400m relay teams.

"The team is progressing nicely," said head coach Dave Dopek. "It is still very early in the season, and we are working our way through some of their heavier training cycles. As long as we continue to train hard, seek recovery with intention, and trust the process of training, this team will continue to make strides toward being the best version of themselves during the championship portion of the season."

Billie Martin kicked off the day with a first place finish in the women's weight throw with a final mark of 19.81m. This win represents her third gold in the event so far this 2023-24 indoor season. Darius Brown also notched a first place finish in the men's 60m hurdles. His final time of 7.77 helped him achieve his second consecutive first place finish in the event.

Just as the Blue Demons started the meet off on a win, the team also ended the day on not one, but two first place performcases by both the men's and women's 4x400m relays. The teams also earned season-best times with the women's team, consisting of Maia Mays, Kayliah Motes, Claire Dunn and Nadja Moll, running a 3:48.27 race. On the men's side, Brown, Charles Lewis, Dominic Cole and Jarel Terry ran a final time of 3:14.78.

In addition to the first place finishes, many members of the team took home new personal bests. Damian Rodriguez opened his indoor season with a new personal record and a third place finish in the men's one mile. His final time of 4:06.15 is the second-best all-time record for the men's indoor one mile in DePaul history. Micheal Ronzone also opened up his indoor season with a personal best in the one mile, finishing in seventh place and running a 4:09.17 final time.

In the women's one mile, Nina Amicon posted a new personal best with her final time of 4:48.7, which now stands as the third-best all-time record for the event. While Meghan Dieball opened her indoor season with a 10th place finish and a final time of 4:52.93.

Terry ran a successful men's 400m race, claiming second place with a final time of 48.42. In the women's 400m, Nadja Moll ran a new personal best time of 56.20 while also taking second place.

After a year-long hiatus, Michael Parry and Sonja Nagle ran in their designated 800m races. Nagle took fifth place with a final time of 2:13.52 and Parry placed seventh with a final time of 1:55.02.
