Jalen Terry Posts Season-High 22 Against #14 Marquette

CHICAGO – Jalen Terry posted a season-high 22 points, Wednesday evening for DePaul men's basketball in a quick-paced matchup against No. 14 Marquette at Wintrust Arena. Marquette (14-5, 5-3 BIG EAST) took the 86-73 win.
The game marked the first for interim head coach Matt Brady as DePaul (3-16, 0-8 BIG EAST) made a season-high 11 three-pointers and shot 47.3 percent on the night.
Terry's 22 points came on a career-best six made three-pointers in addition to a season-high six rebounds. Terry was joined in double-digits by Jeremiah Oden and Jaden Henley who recorded 19 and 10, respectively. Oden's was his best performance in BIG EAST play and came in addition to five rebounds. Da'Sean Nelson dished out a team-best five assists, tying his personal best.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Henley opened up the offense for DePaul as the two sides traded shots early in the first. Marquette took a quick lead before Oden kept it a one-possession game, 15-12, on a three-point shot. The Golden Eagles took advantage of DePaul turnovers, putting together a 17-3 run for a 37-21 lead. With eight minutes to play in the period, the Blue Demons defense held Marquette scoreless for nearly five minutes. DePaul's offense got going, cutting the lead to 10 at the halftime break.
Right out of halftime, Oden sank a three-pointer to make it an eight-point game, 51-43. The pair of teams began to trade blows as Marquette sank bank-to-back three-pointers. DePaul quickly answered with a 7-0 run, highlighted by dunks from Churchill Abass and Henley, 67-56. Marquette continued to find the response as they held onto the lead for the remainder of the game.

- DePaul's 73 points are the sixth-most Marquette has given up this season.
- DePaul tied a season-high 38 first-half points and had its most first-half points in BIG EAST play.
- The Blue Demons totaled a season-best 73 points in conference play.
- DePaul shot 47.3 percent from the field, marking a season-high in the BIG EAST.
- Oden recorded his 40th career game with double-digit scoring.
- K.T. Raimey tied for a career-high in conference play with two three-pointers and two steals.
- Da'Sean Nelson tied a career-high five assists.
- Elijah Fisher had a career-best in a conference game with three assists.
- Terry has recorded back-to-back games with more than five made three-pointers.
