Blue Demons and Wildcats tipoff at 1pm on Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO -- DePaul women's basketball hits the halfway mark of BIG EAST Conference action on Sunday when it hosts Villanova at Wintrust Arena for a nationally televised matchup on FS1. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT with Matt Schumacker and Kim Adams on the call.
The Blue Demons are set to celebrate its 50th season as a varsity program on Sunday, welcoming home former players and managers for a halftime recognition.

Noting the Blue Demons
DePaul (10-11, 2-6 BIG EAST) is coming off a six-point setback in double overtime to St. John's on Wednesday night in which Anaya Peoples had career-highs of 37 points and 16 rebounds in 49 minutes of action. Peoples boasts nine outings of 20 or more points this season and leads the Blue Demons with 18.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game which both rank fifth in the league.
Katlyn Gilbert each recorded in double figures against the Red Storm, scoring 14 and 10, respectively. Allen recorded the fourth double-double of her career, adding 10 rebounds and a team-high four assists. Gilbert added four steals, three assists and three blocks for her 10th game with four or more steals this season.
Gilbert ranks eighth in Division I with 62 steals on the season while her average (2.95) is good for 14th. The graduate guard has improved her scoring average in BIG EAST play to 10.9 ppg, up 3.9 points from non-league games. Allen is putting up 10.3 points a game and 6.5 boards a game while shooting 91-percent from the free-throw line which is fifth among Division I.
As a team, the Blue Demons rank 22nd in assists per game with 18.1 helpers a contest and are 9-1 this season when dishing out 20 or more assists. DePaul's 11.0 steals per game also rank top-30 in the country and have forced double-digit steals in 13 games this season.
Scouting Villanova
The Wildcats are 12-7 overall and 5-3 in BIG EAST play and are coming off an 82-76 loss on the road at Providence. Villanova has lost two in a row after rattling off a 5-1 start to league action.
The Conference's leading scorer resides with the Wildcats as junior guard Lucy Olsen is averaging 23.6 points per game including 13 performances of 20 or more points. Christina Dalce is posting a team-best and league-best 10.9 rebounds a game. As a team, the Wildcats average five blocks per game.
Denise Dillon is in her fourth season leading her alma mater and is 83-30 on the Main Line.
Series Stuff
DePaul holds a 20-11 edge in the all-time series with Villanova. The Wildcats have won the last four meetings between the two programs including a 71-70 decision in the 2023 BIG EAST Quarterfinals.
