WASHINGTON, D.C. – DePaul men's basketball closes out its two-game road swing Saturday at Georgetown with a 11 a.m. CT tip on FS1. Jason Ross Jr. and DePaul alumna Sarah Kustok have the television call in addition to Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine on 670 The Score.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (3-10, 0-0 BIG EAST) enters Saturday in search of its first road win of the season. The Blue Demons have played only two true road games this year, both against top-25 teams in Texas A&M and UConn.
Da'Sean Nelson and Elijah Fisher combined for 36 points for DePaul against UConn, Tuesday evening. Nelson had one of his strongest performances of the season with 19 points, the most in his career on the road, while Fisher registered his fifth double-digit scoring game of the year with 17 points. Mac Etienne also saw a season-high 13 minutes played, going 2-of-2 from the floor.
THE SERIES
Georgetown leads the all-time series, 34-14, however, DePaul has won five of the last seven meetings. The two teams split last seasons' matchups, with each team winning at home. The series between the two programs dates back over 80 years with the first all-time meeting coming in 1923.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown (7-7, 0-3 BIG EAST) is in their first season under head coach Ed Cooley, who previously compiled 242 wins over 12 seasons at Providence. The Hoyas enter Saturday also in search of their first BIG EAST win, coming off conference losses to Butler, Marquette and Creighton.
The Hoyas were without their leading scorer against Creighton, Jayden Epps. Epps is averaging 17.8 points and a team-best 4.8 assists per game. As a team, Georgetown leads the conference in free throw attempts per game and are second in three-point percentage (35.4).
UP NEXT
DePaul heads back to Wintrust Arena for a mid-week matchup against Creighton, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
