DePaul Welcomes No. 21/21 Creighton to Chicago on Saturday

Blue Demons host Bluejays at 3 p.m. on FS1
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball returns home to Wintrust Arena on Saturday, Jan. 6 to close out a three-games in six days stretch when No. 21 Creighton visits town for a nationally televised matchup on FS1. Sloane Martin and Meghan McKeown Wallace will have the call for the matchup slated to tipoff at 3 p.m.

Noting the Blue Demons
DePaul (9-7, 1-2) looks to right the ship and return to the win column after dropping back-to-back BIG EAST games to Georgetown and Providence.
A pair of Blue Demons posted standout performances against the Friars with graduate guard Katlyn Gilbert tying her career-high with 25 points on 61-percent shooting from the field to go with seven steals. Michelle Sidor netted a career-high of her own with 19 points behind a 5-for-9 shooting performance from behind the arc.
Gilbert has collected four or more steals on seven occasions this season and ranks sixth in Division I with 46 takeaways on the season. Sidor has been extremely efficient from deep this season, shooting 47.6 percent from three which is 12th in the country.
Anaya Peoples has led the offensive effort for DePaul this season with 14 double-figure performances including eight 20+ outing for a scoring average of 19.1 points per game which sits fourth in the league. Peoples is also averaging a team-best 7.4 rebounds a game and has collected 41 steals on the year.
As a team, DePaul is grabbing 11.3 steals a game which is best in the conference and 23rd nationally. The Blue Demons also rank first in rebounds per game (40.5) and bench points per game (21.8).
DePaul averages 18.9 assists per game which is 21st nationally and is 8-0 this season when dishing out 20 or more assists.
Scouting Creighton
The Bluejays are 10-3 on the season including a 1-2 mark in BIG EAST play. Creighton is ranked 21st in both national polls and most recently suffered a 90-54 loss to 12th-ranked Connecticut on Wednesday evening.
Veteran trio Emma Ronsiek, Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly have led the Bluejays this season with all three averaging double figures. Ronsiek paces the triple threat with 18.2 points per game.
CU takes care of the ball especially well, committing just 10.5 turnovers per game which ranks third nationally.
Jim Flanery is in his 22nd season leading the Creighton program.
Series Stuff
DePaul leads the all-time series against Creighton, 16-8. The Bluejays swept the regular season meetings a season ago and have won four of the last five matchups. The Blue Demons are 8-5 in games played in Chicago.
