
DePaul Announces 2024 Hall of Fame Class

The class will be inducted during Hall of Fame weekend in January 2025
CHICAGO – DePaul Athletics has announced its 2024 Hall of Fame Class, recognizing six individuals for their exception contributions to the achievements and distinction of DePaul University. The 2024 class features Lindsay Chouinard Platt (Softball), Drake Diener (Men's Basketball), Missy Fraser (Women's Track & Field), Tim Nedow (Men's Track & Field), Allie Quigley (Women's Basketball) and Dr. Robert Hamilton Special Service Award winner, Karen Loiacono.
The group will be recognized during the Hall of Fame weekend, Jan. 10-12, 2025. Full details regarding the ceremony will be made available at a later date.
The DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame was founded in 1976 by the DePaul University Department of Athletics, and was re-introduced in 2023 with amended selection criteria. The Hall of Fame exists to recognize and honor those individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and distinction of DePaul University in athletics, and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values learned by their participation in intercollegiate athletics. Lindsay Chouinard Platt
Chouinard Platt is one of three DePaul softball players all-time to earn First Team All-America honors, doing so in 2003. Chouinard Platt finished her career as a three-time All-American and a two-time Academic All-American. Her long list of accolades includes being a two-time NCAA Regional MVP, two-time Conference USA Pitcher of the Year, 2003 Conference USA Player of the Year, 2000 Conference USA Freshman of the Year. She remains the DePaul career leader in all-time wins (108), appearances (164), complete games (124), shutouts (56) and innings pitched (975.1).
Following her playing career, Chouinard Platt also served as an assistant and associated head coach for the Blue Demons where she helped lead DePaul to the 2007 Women's College World Series and earned 2005 NFCAA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Drake Diener
Diener played for the Blue Demons from 2001-05, where he helped lead the Blue Demons to the 2004 Conference USA Regular-Season Title and the NCAA Tournament. Diener remains DePaul's all-time three-point leader, with 216 made in his career at a 41.1 percent clip. He also holds the program career free-throw percentage record of 87.3 percent. Diener earned 2003 All-Conference USA honors and finished his career with 1,208 all-time career points. Additionally, he was the NACDA 1-AAA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2005 and was a two-time CUSA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Following his collegiate career, Diener played professionally for 12 seasons in Italy and Spain. He currently serves as the head men's basketball coach at Marian University, where he led the Sabres to the 2022 DIII NCAA Tournament.
Missy Fraser
Fraser remains one of DePaul track and field's most accomplished field athletes. She earned Second-Team All-American honors in the javelin in 2012 and was a four-time BIG EAST Outdoor Champion in the event. As a freshman in 2008, Fraser became the first female Blue Demon thrower to qualify for the NCAA Championships and set the then-school javelin record. Her 54.14m mark in 2012 remains the BIG EAST Outdoor Championship record and she is one of nine all-time female athletes to win four BIG EAST outdoor titles in the same event. As a junior, she also set the then DePaul hammer throw record.
Fraser also competed for Team Canada, where she was the 2011 Canadian National Javelin Champion. Additionally, she was a five-time BIG EAST All-Academic honoree and was a 2009 USTFCCA All-Academic honoree.
Tim Nedow
A two-time Olympian, four-time All-American and a four-time BIG EAST Champion. Nedow also still remains the BIG EAST Indoor Championship record holder in shot put and holds the DePaul school records for indoor shot put, outdoor shot put and outdoor discus. His first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011 broke a nine-year drought for the Blue Demons.
Nedow also had an accomplished career with Team Canada, which included being a 2016 and 2020 Olympian. He is a three-time double national champion, three-time top 10 finisher at the World Athletics Championships, 2008 Canadian Junior National Shot Put Champion, 2015 Pan American Games Silver Medalist and two-time Commonwealth Games bronze medalist.
Allie Quigley
One of the most recognizable names tied to DePaul women's basketball, Quigley remains the third all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,078 career points. Her career marks rank top-10 in 11 different categories. During her career DePaul went to four-consecutive NCAA Tournaments, amassed a 92-37 record and made the 2006 NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Quigley's lits of accolades includes being the 2005 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, a four-time All-Conference honoree, two-time NACDA Division 1-AAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2008 Academic All-American and 2008 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the year.
Quigley's accomplished WNBA career began when she was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the 2008 WNBA draft. Quigley is a three-time WNBA All-Star, two-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year, four-time WNBA three-point shootout champion and helped lead the Chicago Sky to the 2021 WNBA Championship.
Karen Loiacono
Loiacono dedicated over 35 years of service to DePaul Athletics before moving to the University in October 2021, and retiring in February 2024. Loiacono served in a variety of roles inside the athletics department, including starting as the sole annual fund raiser for the DePaul Athletics Booster Club in 1986. She helped lay the groundwork for the current DePaul Athletics Fund, working in development for 15 years. Loiacono then transitioned to DePaul Athletics Sports Marketing, a position she held for 19 years. Loiacono was a frequent attendee at all athletics events from cross country to men's basketball, and left a lasting impression on many student-athletes.
