Kindelberger posts 12 kills at .409 clip in defeat
CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball fell to the Marquette Golden Eagles 1-3 (25-17, 23-25, 18-25, 22-25) Sunday afternoon, concluding their regular season with an 18-12 overall record, and a 10-8 mark in league play, good for fourth in the BIG EAST. Marquette finishes their season at second in the conference, with a 22-7 tally in 2024.
DePaul was paced on offense by outside hitter Jill Pressly, who recorded 18 kills and seven digs. Senior Aly Kindelberger also reached double digits, with 12 kills at a .409 clip, while middle blocker Meghan Scholz added nine kills and five blocks on the day.
Setter Ashley Cudiamat added 24 assists, and fellow setter, freshman Amanda Saeger, registered 18 of her own.
Libero Rachel Krasowski led the Blue Demon defense with 18 digs.
"Incredible fight by this group to take that first set from a lethal Marquette offense," said head coach Marie Zidek.
"Our block and defense took the challenge, and there were many bright spots for everyone this afternoon. Our attack efficiencies fed off of our defense, and everyone held high percentages. We have room to grow offensively and can put more into our game as we head to the BIG EAST tournament. That said, we are in this match because of the leadership and competitive identity of this senior group. To walk into these matches with the expectation of winning is due to them grinding for years, and working the hard way to fight for every single point. This program is forever indebted to these seniors who have put DePaul volleyball back on the map and truly given it the Blue Grit identity."
Marquette was led by outside hitter Aubrey Hamilton with 21 kills.
