Three Blue Demons Earn All-BIG EAST Third Team Selections

Lea Eisenring, Freya Jupp, Beth Smyth earn conference recognition
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer student-athletes Lea Eisenring, Freya Jupp, and Beth Smyth each earned selections to the All-BIG EAST Third Team, the conference announced Wednesday morning. The trio led the Blue Demons in scoring this season, tallying twelve of DePaul's nineteen goals and guiding the squad to a 3-3-4 conference record and a spot in the BIG EAST Championships semifinals round, set to begin Thursday, Nov. 7.
Lea Eisenring – The Wittenbach, Switzerland native ranks second on the Blue Demons this year with nine points. She currently shares the lead with three assists and is tied for second with three goals, making one of DePaul's most consistent players through the 2024 campaign.
Logging nearly 1,400 minutes to date, the sophomore has been a staple in the Blue Demon midfield, leading the team with 24 shot attempts. She earned her first career BIG EAST Weekly Honor on Monday, Oct. 28, after netting her third goal in four matches (and the third of her career), which included two penalty kicks against Seton Hall and a game-winner against St. John's.
Freya Jupp – The junior forward from Portsmouth, England, leads DePaul in several statistical categories, including points (15), goals (six), shots on goal (12), and is tied for first with three assists. Her consistent offensive contributions and impressive .706 shot on goal percentage reflect her ability to create scoring opportunities for her team.
With over 1,000 minutes logged, Jupp has stepped up in any role, whether starting or coming off the bench. One of her most pivotal finishes came during the first round of the BIG EAST tournament, where she scored DePaul's second of three goals, helping the team advance to the semifinals.
Beth Smyth – The graduate captain of DePaul women's soccer has been a leading force over her five-year career. A native of Manchester, England, she earned her first career BIG EAST Player of the Week honor after netting the game-winner against No. 18 Georgetown on Sunday, Oct. 13, giving DePaul its first ranked victory since 2019.
Across 14 games, Smyth has played over 900 minutes, scored three goals, and added one assist. Her 17 shot attempts rank third on the team, and she holds the second-highest shot on goal percentage at .529. Over her 70-game career as a Blue Demon, she has been a crucial contributor, exemplifying leadership and commitment throughout.
