CHICAGO – It was a slow start that stung DePaul on Sunday afternoon in a 78-59 loss to longtime rival Marquette inside Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons shot just 13-percent from the floor in the first quarter and could never claw back, falling to 6-9 on the season and 1-1 in BIG EAST play.

Taylor Johnson-Matthews tallied the first double-double of her career with 19 points and 10 rebounds in addition to a career-high six assists. The junior guard reached double-digits for the seventh-straight game.
Junior Meg Newman rounded out the trio scoring in double figures with 10 points in addition to her eight rebounds and two steals for her first multi-steal game as a Blue Demon.
DePaul was held to just six bench points, with Allen, Johnson-Matthews, and Newman combining for 53.
Four Golden Eagles finished in double figures led by Skylar Forbes' 18 points.
