Â
Demon DoingsÂ
DePaul began the month of December with a 66-42 victory over SIUE on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Demons defense allowed the fewest point by an opponent since the 2019 season while graduate forward Jorie Allen led the offense once again with 21 points and nine rebounds.
Â
'DePaul Ball' is at its best when sharing the rock and the Blue Demons did just that on Sunday with a season-high 22 assists on 26 made field goals against SIUE.
Â
Allen, named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the third time on Monday, is averaging 19.0 points per game to lead DePaul which is fourth among BIG EAST players. Her 90 percent free-throw clip is first in the league and top-30 nationally.
Â
The Blue Demons have played the 18th-toughest non-conference schedule in Division I to date, having played a trio of top-10 opponents (No. 4 Texas, No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 9 Kansas State) in addition to 2024 conference champions and NCAA Tournament teams Princeton and Green Bay.
Â
Northwestern Notes
The Wildcats enter Wednesday's matchup with a 3-3 record after taking down Cornell 67-54 on Sunday afternoon. NU has played just one game outside of the confines of Welsh-Ryan Arena this season, a 73-64 at nearby Loyola Chicago last week.
Â
Northwestern returns its two top scorers from a season ago in which the program went 9-21, but a trio of transfers Taylor Williams (13.0 ppg), Kyla Jones (12.2 ppg) and Grace Sullivan (12.2 ppg) lead the scoring efforts through six games to start the 2024-25 season.
Â
Joe McKeown is in his 17th season at the helm of the Wildcats program.
