DePaul Track and Field Competes at Meyo Invitational

The Blue Demons travel to South Bend, Ind.
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field begins its two-day long competition at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, Friday afternoon. The Blue Demons travel to South Bend, Ind. after a successful weekend hosting their second annual Blue Demon Alumni Classic.
Friday kicks off with the women's long jump at 3 p.m. CT. Fans can expect to see a performance by senior Alicia Jones, who placed first in her designated event last weekend with a final mark of 5.30m.
Cameron Attucks, who also placed first at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic last weekend, is set to race the men's 60m dash. Last week the Blue Demon earned a final time of 6.86. Attucks currently holds the school record with a 6.74 time.
On Saturday, events begin at 9 a.m. CT, with Olivia Borowiak running the women's 3000m. The graduate student currently holds the school record with a final time of 9:18.37.
Nina Amicon is set to run the women's mile at 10:10 a.m. CT. Last week, Amicon earned first place with a new personal best time of 9:27.11. On the men's side, Michael Ronozone will run the mile after taking first place in the event last week with a final time of 4:12.68.
In the women's triple jump at 10 a.m. CT, sophomore Jaiah Hopf returned from her hiatus last week, placing first in the event with a final mark of 11.88m. Hopf etched her name into the record books last season after capturing a final mark of 12.67m.
Junior Alex Bernstien is set to compete In the Adam Beltran weight throw at 12:15 p.m. CT. Bernstein captured gold last week with a new personal mark of 20.34m Billie Martin and Kash Allen are expected to compete in the Invitational weight throw at 2:15 p.m. CT. Martin earned her fourth first place finish this season while Allen achieved a new personal best mark of 15.28m.
At 11:40 a.m. CT Claire Dunn will run the women's 400m after taking gold in the event last week with a new personal best time of 56.68. Both men's and women's 4x400m relays are set to compete at the end of the day in the hopes of continuing their winning streaks.
