DePaul Track and Field Completes Day One of Meyo Invitational

The Blue Demons compete in South Bend, Ind.
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field completed the first day of the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, Friday evening. The Blue Demons had nine top-20 finishes across six different events.
The competition kicked off with the women's long jump at 3 p.m. CT. Alicia Jones earned 15th overall with a final mark of 5.06m. Jordyn Showers followed behind with a final mark of 4.90m.
In the women's shot put, freshman Jessica Beckman led the pack with a final throw of 13.24m. Noelle Malkamki had a final mark of 13.15m and Kindle Miles had a final mark of 12.86m.
In the women's 60m qualifying round freshman Nevah Lowe secured seventh place and a new personal best with a final time of 7.72. Jetta Mays took 10th with a 7.79 final time. Both Blue Demons qualified for the 60m finals tomorrow.
Charles Lewis took 14th in the men's 200m with a final time of 22.32 while Lauren Pacsi placed 10th in the women's 600m with a new personal best time of 1:34.34.
Freshman Mason Kreig ran his first ever 5000m, taking 25th with a final time of 14:46.10. Jackson Thomas achieved a new personal best in the event with a final time of 15:36.92.
UP NEXT: Tomorrow, the Blue Demons take on day two of the Meyo Invitational. The first event is set for 9 a.m. CT.
