DePaul Breaks Four Records While Claiming Three Titles at BIG EAST Indoor Championships

The Blue Demons complete the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field completed the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, Saturday afternoon. The Blue Demons broke four records and won three titles on the second day of competition. The men's team finished fifth overall while the women's team placed fourth.
Kash Allen was the first Blue Demon on the top of the podium after dominating the women's shot put. The Blue Demon earned her first-ever BIG EAST Indoor Championship title with a final mark of 15.02m.
Darius Brown crushed two records in the men's 60m hurdles, defeating the BIG EAST Indoor Championship and his old school record of 7.68 with a new final time of 7.63. Brown's new personal best has him tied for sixth in the nation.
Olivia Borowiak defeated her school record in the 3000m after placing second with a final time of 9:15.67 in the championships. The final school record of the night came tumbling down when Alexa Havon, Isabella Orozco, Sonja Nagle and Meghan Dieball conquered the women's 4x800m relay championship. The team earned third place with a final time of 8:50.42 topping the long-standing record from 2013 of 8:59.76.
On the men's side, Michael Ronzone, Joe Knanishu, Lucas Cunningham and Damian Rodriguez teamed up for the men's 4x800m relay coming in third with a final time of 7:33.24.
In addition to the two 4x800m relay squads, five other Blue Demons earned bronze throughout the day. Jetta Mays took third in the women's 200m with a final time of 24.36 while Dominic Cole took third in the same event on the men's side with a time of 21.57.
In the women's 400m, Claire Dunn placed third and earned a new personal best with a final time of 55.23. Jaiah Hopf achieved a season best after taking third and clearing a final mark of 12.19m in the women's triple jump.
For the last event of the night Brown teamed up with Charles Lewis, Daniel Fasasi and Jarel Terry for an incredible come from behind win in the men's 4x400m relay championship. The team came out victorious with a final time of 3:13.10 and Brown was awarded the most outstanding track performer award for his triumphs.
