The Blue Demon earns his second Weekly Honors this season
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field's Darius Brown has been named BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the conference Tuesday morning. His accolade comes after breaking two school records this past weekend at the Meyo Invitational.
The Blue Demon surpassed his own school record in the men's 60m hurdles with a new time of 7.70, tied for the ninth-fastest time in the nation. Later in the competition, Brown also helped break DePaul's long-standing 4x400m relay record with a new time of 3:09.48, eclipsing the previous school record by 2.5 seconds. This was the first time a DePaul relay team has ever run under 3:10.
UP NEXT: The Blue Demons prepare for the Badger Windy City Invitational on Feb. 9 through Feb. 10.
