Carbone clinches on court 4 as DePaul wins fourth-straight
MADISON, WIS. – The Blue Demons outmatched Boise State 4-3 to claim its fourth win in-a-row ahead of a contest with No. 24 Wisconsin on Sunday.Â
DePaul (9-5) took a quick advantage on the heels of a pair of doubles victories. The tandem of Emily Casati and Yuliya Kizelbasheva started with a 6-2 win on court two before Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith secured the 6-4 triumph in the No. 1 slot. The duo of Carbone and Smith improved to 6-2 on court one during dual action this season.Â
In singles competition, graduate student Mayya Perova made her dual season debut for the Blue Demons.Â
Casati notched the first point in singles play for the Blue Demons with the 6-4, 6-3 defeat of Nicole Discenza on court five. Casati has now tallied a win in eight-consecutive matches.Â
Junior Eleanor Nobbs, reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week, won her third-straight match, in the No. 2 singles spot with a victory in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.
Boise State (2-6) tallied singles points on courts one, three, and six moving even with the Blue Demons as the competition entered the late afternoon.
In the decider on court four, Carbone won 7-5, 7-5 to put the Broncos' comeback hopes to rest. Winner of four-straight match, Carbone sits at 6-3 during the dual campaign.Â

DePaul takes on Wisconsin Sunday, March 3. First serve is scheduled for 11:30 CST at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Following the contest, the Blue Demons will be back in the Badger State to face Marquette on Friday, March 8. First Serve is set for 6:00 P.M. CST.Â
