Men’s tennis set to play three matches in Florida
FLORIDA – DePaul men's tennis hits the road for a trio of matches in Fort Myers and Boca Raton, Fla. this week. The Blue Demons (7-8) square off against Florida Gulf Coast (FGCU), Brown, and #46 Florida Atlantic (FAU).
On Tuesday, March 26, DePaul takes on FGCU (5-8) in Fort Myers, with first serve set for 4:00 p.m. CT at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
Action in Boca Raton begins on Thursday, March 28, in a neutral-site match featuring Brown (5-11) and DePaul. On Saturday, the Blue Demons take on #46 FAU (12-4), closing out their stay in the sunshine state. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. CT at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center on both Thursday and Saturday.
Last time out, the Blue Demons defeated BIG EAST foe Georgetown at home in a 4-3 decision. Shourya Verma and Leon Huck picked up their second BIG EAST Men's Doubles Team of the Week of the season as a result.
All three of DePaul's opponents enter their respective matches coming off victories. FGCU took down Austin Peay 6-1 on Sunday, Brown defeated Holy Cross and Quinnipiac, and FAU dominated East Tennessee last week.
The Blue Demons have only seen FGCU twice since 2009, splitting the two matches with the Eagles.
DePaul last faced Brown in 2011, dropping the March 10 match in a 3-4 decision.
Additionally, the Blue Demons are 1-5 against FAU dating back to 2001. Most recently, the two squared off on Jan. 16, 2022, with FAU coming out on top 4-3.
